Pre-contract services are essential for maintaining proper contractual, programming and financial control from the earliest stages of a project.  This will help to avoid problems such as uncertainty over contract terms, disparity between scope of work and price, the unwitting acceptance of onerous terms, together with the effects of a poorly considered and implemented procurement strategy.

 

The costs for failures at pre-contract stage can be considerable.  QCC consider that if the initial direction of the project is flawed, this will only be exacerbated once the project commences.
